Spitting According to Islamic Adab Islamic Information
Disunnahkan for someone to adorn himself with courtesy or manners of society and pay attention to ill-health. Spitting on the street is that inappropriate actions and can hurt others.
Nevertheless we tdak get one any texts prohibiting spitting on the street and on the origin of everything is ibahah (allowed) until there is proof that forbid it.
There is some science expert opinion on this. Owner "Mathalib Aulaa an nahyi" saying that it is permissible except in the mosque with facing to the left and under the soles of his feet.
No ban on spitting in the street either the culprit is someone who is sick or healthy unless the person is suffering from a contagious disease that can spread the disease through saliva.
Then banned at the time to spit on the street unless directly in pendamnya (rubbed scrape in the ground) by the generality of words of the Prophet, "Do not hurt each other." (HR. Malik)

In "Mughni al Muhtaj Ila Ma'rifah Alfazh al Manhaj" written Syarbiniy mentioned that Makruh spit to the right and front although not in a state of prayer, as suggested by the author.
